Tele-hut

A virtual access hub called ‘Tele-hut' will be established at the ‘virtual village' and will be equipped with ICT equipment, having network facilities, desktop computer, note book, colour printer, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, digital camera. It will serve the different village requirements such as

 

  • Agriculturally sensitive information to the farmer community
  • Multimedia technology for promotional & empowerment activities of the community based organizations
  • Market sensitive information dissemination to the micro-entrepreneurs
  • Educational information to the school children
  • Religious activity promotion at the temple premises

  • Communication facilities eg. Telephone, fax, voice over IP

 

The telehut is based in a Sarvodaya Society, a village level community based gathering. At Meewala, Gampaha the telehut is located in a Buddhist temple, where the Head Buddhist Reverand, is the president of the Sarvodaya society
